If you like to exercise outside at night, a new personal alarm and light system is available to deter possible predators andalert help.


Alarm Combo, developed by Doberman Security Products Inc., based in Los Angeles, provides two products retailing for less than $30 at Staples, Super Target and Amazon.com.
The Power Button gives off a shrill, 100-decibel alarm that sounds at the push of a button. It is accompanied by flashing red LED lights to lead others to your location. The lights can also be set to a steady beam to be used as a flashlight. This straps onto the arm during exercise.
The Defense Whistle is designed to fit in the palm of the hand. It can be worn around the neck or attached to a backpack or apparel.
